Nathan Parkes (21) is a promising pace bowling all-rounder coming from Northland, New Zealand.
He is a right arm opening bowler and handy middle order batsman. Currently playing for Kamo Cricket Club's premier side, he is also a key component of the Northland Men's team, beginning his 6th season after debuting at the young age of 16.
Nathan enjoyed a successful Fergus Hickey (Northern District's 2-day minor association tournament) back in 2019/20, as the 'Kiwi' took 13 wickets at an average of 15, which included two 5-wicket hauls. As a result, Parkes was selected for the Northern Districts A side.
Since then he has continued to dominate at club level, performing consistently for Northland with both bat and ball. A notable highlight being his match winning 52*, in which he guided Northland home chasing a large total against Counties Manuka.
Unfortunately, Parkes has had a couple of injury setbacks in recent years which have caused him to miss the 2021/22 and half of the 2022/23 seasons. However, he finished last season playing for Northern Districts A across all formats, and is continuing to push for his case for higher honours during the current 2023/24 summer.
Now having finished University with a degree in finance, Parkes is looking to further develop his cricketing skills during the 2024 season. Looking to play specifically in the EU, the New Zealander will be a terrific addition to any club wanting to add a dynamic all rounder to their squad.
