Are you ready to help us Stop Cricket Valley Energy? Here are a few things that you can do to help.
Contact Governor Cuomo
Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has made a name for himself as a strong supporter of a clean environment. He recently signed Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), committing New York State to carbon neutrality by 2050. In 2014 Governor Cuomo banned Hydraulic Fracking in New York State. So, why is his administration allowing CVE to pump millions of tons of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere each year?
In fact, if plants like CVE are permitted to operate it will make it much more difficult, or even impossible to reach the CLCPA’s urgent goals, with deadly consequences.
Urge the Governor to halt construction of the Cricket Valley fracked gas power plant and to put an immediate moratorium in place on all new fossil fuel infrastructure. New Yorkers demand clean air and a livable climate.
Call Governor Cuomo at 877-235-6537 and demand that he Stop Cricket Valley and order the Department of Environmental Conservation to require a Supplemental Environmental Impact Study which takes into account the CLCPA and the new facts about climate change which have emerged since the initial study was completed in 2011.
